AN (Army-Navy) is a set of standards that date back to World War 2, and comes from the US Military. It is not a measurement ⚠️ These standards include Tube O.D, Hose I.D, and thread. AN Fittings use a metal on metal contact in the form of a 37deg flare to form the seal. There is no gasket and it doesn't seal on the thread.

This is only an issue for those running multiple fuel pumps and large volumes of fuel, which these days is more and more common. For this reason, we have developed a Billet Bypass. This essentially replaces 2x Y-Blocks, a bypass hose and a bunch of fittings. It results in a much neater, and cheaper solution, with less points of leakage.
